Palm Sunday
On Palm Sunday, we will begin our service with a procession, gathering in front of the church and processing into the sanctuary with palm branches. This is a joyous Anglican tradition you won’t want to miss, so plan to give yourself a little extra time to arrive on Palm Sunday.
Maundy Thursday
On Maundy Thursday, we remember the Last Supper in the upper room where Jesus gives his disciples the mandate to love and serve one another. He demonstrates this ‘Mandate to love by washing their feet’ and so the church also takes up this practice of foot washing as a means to remind ourselves of the posture that we ought to take towards each other. This year DSM Anglican will be celebrating Maundy Thursday in homes throughout the community.
Good Friday
Observe Good Friday with Des Moines Anglican on April 18, at 6:30 PM. Childcare will be provided for kids 4 and under.

Wednesday night March 5, we will be gathering for Ash Wednesday service at 5001 Hickman Rd. in Des Moines (Redeemer Presbyterian).
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of repentance and fasting in preparation for Holy Week and Easter.

On February 26, immediately following service, we’ll have a brief All-Church Meeting where we’ll celebrate what God has done, have a financial update, and look ahead to 2025. Following the meeting, we’ll share a common meal. Bring a Mexican-themed dish or dessert to share.

Fall Retreat
This fall, our journey through Emotionally Healthy Discipleship will culminate in a family retreat at Hidden Acres Retreat Center November 1-3. The cost will be $100 per person (maximum $250 per family) and will include meals, lodging for two nights, activities, and childcare.
